IN STORES: MAY 14, 2008
You can probably find complete shipping list updates on most major comics sites. Consider this an opportunity to either do all your info-shopping in the one place, or get a speculative perspective on what might be worth checking out. These are untested reads. Secret Wars on Infinite Earths can offer no guarantee or endorsement of quality. These are simply titles that may be of potential interest. Some items may ship late.

The Infinite Wars now has a gift shop!
Now you'll find Amazon purchase links to hardcovers, trade paperbacks, and other collections, not only on regular entries -- but also new releases at the bottom of the Shipping List, and now a whole catalogue of potential purchases via the Infinite Wars: Amazonian Gift Shop. [Men are also welcome!] By shopping with Amazon via our purchase links, you not only find yourself a great deal, but also sponsor future entries on the Infinite Wars.

The Deep Dish...
- FEB080199 BATMAN #676 RIP $2.99
Will they, or won't they? As obvious as the answer should be, that seems to be the biggest question heading into Batman: RIP. Grant Morrison's already taken Batman to a lot of unexpected places with his brief tenure on the title, and now a new threat lurks in the shadows promising to take Batman's life! Sure, we've all heard that before, but you've always got to be just a little bit worried when the Joker seems to think this might be the real deal. Eep!... Someone hold me!

- MAR082210 CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI 13 #1 SI $2.99
At this point five hundred and thirty characters have featured on the site. So it's astounding to think someone like Captain Britain isn't among them! I'm definitely a casual fan of the character and look forward to tracking the progress of this series. It seems destined for cancellation, but it'd be wonderful to see Marvel making an effort to keep these series afloat. The recent Union Jack series was a disappointing effort, but typical of Marvel's C-tier promotion.

- MAR080169 GREEN LANTERN CORPS #24 $2.99
We talked recently about the validity of burly alien invaders who want to punch-up Superman [Target: Superman]; but as much fun as those guys can be, they don't exactly make for long term investment. While I can't vouch for the quality of content, I love the concept behind Mongul's latest elevation to lead villain in the pages of Green Lantern Corps!

- MAR082180 GUARDIANS OF GALAXY #1 $2.99
Of course, as soon as I express dismay for Marvel's ability to keep secondary titles afloat, we get a glimpse at this exciting new book from the pages of Annihilation! Technically from the pages of Annihilation: Conquest, but I couldn't link to the single review we have of the recent cosmic revamp in that case...
Like Captain Britain, I'm sceptical, but think there's enough recent evidence to believe that the right people are invested in this corner of the Marvel universe. The moderate success of Nova has been a breath of fresh air, and I think it's great, without being over ambitious, to see the rest of the cosmic heroes burst into a team book! The real trick from here will be balancing any future plans for universe-spanning crossovers...

- MAR080207 LOST BOYS REIGN OF FROGS #1 (OF 4) (MR) $3.50
I don't think solicitations are over stepping the mark when they credit the original film for inspiring franchises like Buffy, but the upcoming Lost Boys sequel is something I still don't want... I haven't changed my mind about that!
Wildstorm seem to have a penchant for dodgy licensed horror books, so it's no big loss. I don't like horror comics, so is this a survival guide? Mmm, if Wildstorm's catalogue is anything to go by, not so much!... Let's just hope Schumacher stays the hell away from St. Elmo's Fire...

- MAR082194 MARVEL ADVENTURES HULK #11 $2.99
It's one of comics' great rivalries, and sadly, one of the glaring holes in the story of the Infinite Wars. I'm not sure if this will be the Hulk/Thing fight to fill that void, but it's another vote of confidence for the Marvel Adventures office, and the MA: Hulk title!
If you're out there and you have been reading the book for the full year, or just a few months, drop a comment and report the goods!

- MAR082145 SOLEIL SKY DOLL #1 (OF 3) (MR) $5.99
... This is way too cool for Marvel.

- MAR080146 SUPERMAN #676 $2.99
I'm not sure I could possibly be more excited about this one!
Originally slated for Superman Confidential, this issues serves up the tale of Superman's first meeting with the Green Lantern, Alan Scott! If that cover's to be believed, that means the lumbering menace of Solomon Grundy is going to be right at the middle!

Since I can't possibly articulate the reasons behind my excitement for such a retroactive tale, some frivilous lamenting -- wouldn't it be fun to track Solomon Grundy's battles over the past five years? Is it just me, or has the big gun been everywhere?

- JAN082179 THUNDERBOLTS #120 $2.99
It seems like the beginning of the end for the Thunderbolts in a meltdown we knew was coming from day-one of the current series! Sounds like Venom's running amok, and with an upcoming appearance slated for Amazing Spider-man, this might just mark the return of ol' Gargan as a fulltime free agent. I might be jumping the gun there, but I could certainly live with it.

Site Update...
Wow! After the dismal efforts of last month's fifth-week, that is one devestating month of comics! I don't know how quality rates out overall, but wow!
Of course, if you haven't already, you should be foregoing any number of those reads to pick up the ridiculously cheap twenty-two page $1.99 experience that is - The Kirby Martin Inquest! I will get around to talking more about the series eventually, but for the time being it's all been catch-up after a couple of weeks of total distraction! Hoping to pick up the pace to facilitate some variety, but right now it's all Iron Man and MK, folks!
