CARE PACKAGES: November 07, 2007
In an effort to spread the load of daily posting, Infinite Wars opened it's doors to a few new ways of thinking. This is a pretty big deal for a blog that's essentially been refining the same format for two years!

As we dedicate Wednesdays to the Comik-Politik poorly drawn political cartoons, we may as well pad out some of that space with a mainstay of any major comics website. I of course refer to the shipping list, and rather than try anything fancy for projected issues, we'll take our cues from the final list at Diamond. The theory being, if you're heading out to the store, you might like to see what the Infinite Wars is looking forward to... not buying. In truly self-indulgent style, it's also a faux checklist for me to look back on should I be in the market for a floppy to read.

These are untested reads, and Secret Wars on Infinite Earths can offer no guarantee of quality or endorsement. These are simply titles that would be of interest, if we were in stores.

And yes, there is a comedic irony to introducing such a feature three days late, but I like to think that just gives us a Vertigo style sense of rebellious cool.

Being based on speculation, it's probably foolhardy to attempt to make a pick of the week, but at least today I'm going to try!

You wouldn't know it to read the two year archives of the Infinite Wars, but I'm just as much a Hellboy fan as anyone else. We recently touched on some of the pulp/golden age influences I enjoy [Adventure Comics #40], and Lobster Johnson is a character that taps right into that world.

Some might say Lobster Johnson isn't for the Hellboy uninitiated, but I think the character is removed enough that it's a whole new way to enjoy and enter that universe. And of course, we always subscribe to the theory that the best jumping-on point is the point you jump onto! Cheers!
