ANNUAL PUNCH-UP: 2025 RANKINGS RECAP
What if every superhero and super-villain in existence were unwittingly competing against one another in a grand secret war across infinite earths? That's right, sports fans! The end of another year means it's time to take a look at the Fight Club Rankings!Every win, loss, and draw on Secret Wars on Infinite Earths impacts the overall standings. Character-specific updates are at the bottom of every new featured fight -- but only here can we take stock of the big picture!
Season 2025 was one of the shortest yet, but it still managed to have significant impact on the overall tally. We zoomed in on specialist interests, while also addressing some of the big names of the year appearing in feature films, new comic book releases, and video games.
In one of the most significant developments -- we're ending our year with a new addition to the Top 10! The Thing makes his long overdue arrival in the #9 spot, forcing Wonder Woman out of the top bracket and back down to #11 -- sure to be a controversial update despite Ben Grimm's legendary status!
DC & Marvel owned Hyena made the most of his appearance on the site, leveraging a split decision for a surprisingly big +40 gain. He made out better than Dark Claw, who only managed +13 from their featured face-off. The Amalgam villain was our biggest riser, but right behind him were the erstwhile Daredevil, Elektra, and gun-toting anti-hero, The Punisher, who jumped +34 and +33 respectively.
We also saw modest, single-digit gains for The Thing, Deadpool, and Mirror Master -- the latter demonstrating the unforeseen consequences of our featured fight results. Absorbing Man proved to be our biggest loser, plummeting a titanic -342 spots after his defeat. The Wrecking Crew also suffered from the spotlight, with The Wrecker leading the fall down -65 and Piledriver losing -46 spots.
Deadpool advanced on the hotly contested #20 spot still occupied by Black Adam, while Green Lantern made a minor adjustment in that direction, as we begin a feature series that could see him rise to the challenge in 2026. The future could also be bright for the likes of Ryu and Storm, who round out the Top 25, and will both return to the big screen in major releases next year. It could also be interesting to see if Captain America can be the one to shake-up the Top 10 again! We shall see!
