Joker remains a hot property with The Dark Knight approaching several box office records that appear to have given DC a license to print novelty money, if not several stories revisiting Alan Moore's pseudo-origin, The Killing Joke. Recent issues of Booster Gold quite literally went back to the event, which, despite occasional lapses of certainty, can be firmly considered 'in continuity.' This time around it's a live redux as Joker finds his way into the Birds' newest nest, and comes face-to-face with the woman he crippled - former Batgirl, Barbara Gordon!- JUN080217 BRAVE AND THE BOLD #16 $2.99
They'll be presumably fighting for the same side when Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe hits gaming consoles later in the year, but if you couldn't wait for a Superman/Catwoman team-up in the game, then look no further than Brave and the Bold! It wasn't so long ago we were ready to condemn the series to death, but it seems like there's life in the old girl, yet! Mark Waid appears to be mixing it up with some interesting results, producing not only intriguing team-up combinations, but what feels like the work of an entirely different writer. Scot Kolins could be the make or break contributor, depending on whether or not we get the comic book penciller, or the hideous CG-[un]finished dry waller. Solicitations refer to the character as "Superboy-Prime," potentially making the status of his name the more involving piece of the canon. Say what you will about Prime, the character analagous to an angry fanboy, but I kinda like him! Sure, the character's been bouncing broadly through events that have included; Infinite Crisis, the Sinestro Corps War, and Countdown to Final Crisis; but is that so wrong? Not especially fond of the Legion, I don't really know what to expect from this series, but imagine it will be largely removed from the core of Final Crisis. It's the unpredictability of all the elements that actually has me quite interested!- JUN082329 GHOST RIDER #26 $2.99
Speaking of fanboy tittilation and unpredictability; it's a tale of two Ghost Riders as Danny Ketch makes his promised return to the pages currently inhabited by original hellspawn, Johnny Blaze!Fans clammoring for the second generation's return will have mystery and intrigue to look forward to, with allusions to Vengeance supposedly somewhere in the future. It remains, however, to be seen if the spirits of vengeance will all be on the same side!

More seventies revivals as the kung fu revolution continues, post- Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction! Their revival rested heavily on the surprisingly rarely recapped origins of the kung fu fighter from K'un L'un. Diehards, latecomers, and fans of the martial arts genre might like to give this one a look through, as the lens is turned to the epic origins of Danny Rand!

Despite a promising start, Moon Knight failed to really carve out any kind of substantial niche, in issues that suffered from a fate I'm not especially fond of describing as decompression. The series looks to return to the Marvel Universe in a less arbitrary sense than vague Civil War tie-ins when Marc Spector is confronted by the Thunderbolts for his violent besmirchment of the Initiative moral.- JUN082402 PUNISHER #61 (MR) $2.99
I love this cover, but can't help but wonder if that's going to be an immediate turn-off to fans of Garth Ennis' MAX Punisher. Should be interesting to see how the mature title handles the upcoming December release of the violent feature, Punisher War Zone.

The Wildstorm/DC crossover ramps up with the promise of one Superman fighting another!
I'm not sure how successful the title has been at luring fans to lagging Wildstorm titles, but if I were to happen to receive review copies, I'm sure it's the kind of series that would fit right in with the Infinite Wars. Big hero action as we like it!
