Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Red Right Hand (1994)
This haunting track from Australian music legends, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, might be better recognised for it's atmospheric use as an anthem for the horror series, Scream. Comics fans, however, might identify the track for it's clever use, albeit a cover version by Peter Yorn, in the feature adaptation of Hellboy, as a none-too-subtle reference to the titular protagonist's stoney, red, Right Hand of Doom!
The connection holds hidden meaning given the song's title as a reference to John Milton's seventeenth century poem, Paradise Lost, where the phrase refers to the vengeful hand of God.
