Late last year I was pretty pleased to see Marvel bring Juggernaut back to basics as an unstoppable guest character in Uncanny Avengers. His classic routine continues in Despicable Deadpool #298, where Deadpool must contend with a gauntlet of mercenaries, villains, and past nemeses as the tables turn in The Marvel Universe Kills Deadpool. CBR featured a very nice cover & preview.
I haven't had much chance to sing the praises of artist Mike Hawthorne, but I daresay he's one of my favourite pencillers going today. He's got a good clean rendered line, and draws characters with just the right amount of heft. His work on Deadpool has really been a pleasure to see, even from a distance. I'm always interested to see what he's got going and fully expect bigger things post-DP.
There may be bigger things coming for Juggernaut, too. There are rumors and fan theories he might make a more faithful appearance in Deadpool 2. I'm not really convinced. Trailers show Colossus hitting something metallic and rounded, but it doesn't immediately say Juggernaut to me. If we do get a more faithful Juggernaut, and anything resembling one of their classic brawls - that'll be great!
