We just inducted X-Force into the fold [with X-Force #1] so this new Cable arc is inadvertently part of the Infinite Wars family. They're battling Bishop and Cyclops is harassing something and there's a baby and Cable's laughing at Bishop and there's soft time travel but I don't think it's anything of consequence but we'll probably still smoosh Cable up against Booster Gold in our year-end recap Fantasy Fights because we're lazy!... I need a drink...

Last month we suggested this might be a competent politically charged thriller set in the DC Universe. I'm started to have second thoughts about that endorsement, but I think there's still some fun to be had with what seems to be an exploration of characters. One to watch! DC have once again shown their competence when reviving and reinvigorating and reloving dusty old properties! El Diablo probably isn't one for the traditionalists, but the liberally minded will probably appreciate.

In a nutshell: leftover plot devices from Spider-man's tussle with Ezekiel smash with the reality-altering funtimes of Absolute Power. Dwayne McDuffie publicly acknowledged the interference of editorial mandates on the top team book, pretty much earning himself a free pass from every free-thinking reviewer. So, really, the Dwaynester could tune out, cash his checks, and phone it all in, which is a shame... I've never been a big Vixen fan, but I would've appreciated a JLA plotline that actually made something substantial out of her character, rather than fulfiling the stereotypes. Stereotypes of C-list characters. Nothing else!- AUG080145 NIGHTWING #149 RIP $2.99
With a milestone issue on the horizon, you'd be forgiven for anticipating something significant for the next issue of Nightwing's vague tie-in to Batman RIP. Hey!
